TWO iconic Greenock landmarks will be illuminated in purple this week in support of people living with dementia. The Beacon and Custom House will take on a new look at night to mark Dementia Awareness Week 2021, organised by Alzheimer Scotland. The Beacon's theatre director, Pauline Kane, says the arts centre is proud to support this year's campaign. She added: "We work to promote the restorative and transformative power of the arts. "Once we re-open, we look forward to resuming our partnership with Alzheimer Scotland to support those living with dementia in Inverclyde." Councillor Robert Moran, Inverclyde’s older people’s champion, added: "There’s a lot of good work happening in Inverclyde to support people living with dementia.
