Bears make a little history with playoff win Winnisquam hoop girls get program's first playoff win in more than a decade click for larger version) March 11, 2021TILTON — The Winnisquam girls' basketball team had a goal entering the season to win a playoff game and this year the Bears did that for the first time in more than a decade, with Winnisquam topping Inter-Lakes 48-31 in the opening round of the Division 3 state tournament. It was a tight game in the first quarter, with the Bears leading 10-6. The Lakers got on the board first with a three0pointer by Erin Furnee on an assist by Hannah Lopez. The Lakers had a 6-2 lead with about four minutes left in the half, but the Bears went on an 8-0 run to close the quarter. Leading the charge for Winnisquam was Mackenzie Phillippy and Lauren MacDonald with four points apiece.
