Belarusian scientists get CIS awards for space exploration R&D MINSK, 13 May (BelTA) – Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus have been awarded the interstate prize Stars of the Commonwealth for R&D work in the area of space exploration, the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus told BelTA. The Belarusian team includes Director General of the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Aleksandr Tuzikov, Director of the R&D enterprise Geoinformation Systems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Sergei Zolotoi, and Head of the Joint Programs on Space and Information Technologies Department of the United Institute of Informatics Problems Sergei Korenyako. The scientists are awarded for a great contribution to the development and the successful realization of Belarusian-Russian programs in the area of space exploration, for R&D work for the sake of development of Belarus' space industry, and for bolstering cooperation between member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the area of research and peaceful uses of outer space.
