WHECTV Created: December 28, 2020 03:03 PM ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Monroe County Executive Adam Bello issued an emergency order Monday capping third-party delivery fees charged to restaurants. GrubHub, DoorDash, UberEats and other services will be prohibited from charging any restaurant in Monroe County a delivery fee of more than 15% of the price of any order, regardless of how the order was placed. According to Bello, it’s common for third party delivery services to charge restaurants as much as 30% of the price of an order as a delivery fee. Restaurant owners have previously told News10NBC that a delivery fee of 30% makes it nearly impossible for restaurants to make a profit from sales made through third-party delivery apps.
