Bicyclist killed in hit-and-run crash on Jay Street

Police are looking for the driver who struck and killed a bicyclist in a hit-and-run crash on Jay Street in Rochester Thursday night.
Kerry Traver, 57, of Rochester died, police revealed. The crash occurred around 10:15 p.m. near 1037 Jay Street, just west of Hague Street. Rochester Police Lt. Michael Perkowski said it appeared that the cyclist, a man, was riding his bicycle on Jay Street when he "was struck by an unknown type vehicle, which then fled the scene."
The cyclist, who has not been identified pending family notification, was found on the roadway with severe trauma to his body. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Perkowski said.
