By WMAY Newsroom Facebook / Bishop Thomas John Paprocki The Springfield Catholic Diocese is ending the dispensations that had allowed local Catholics to miss attending Sunday Mass during the pandemic. The Sunday Mass obligation was suspended last year amid concerns about COVID-19 transmission inside churches. In April, the dispensation was ended except for people in certain categories, such as those age 65 and older. Now Bishop Thomas John Paprocki says with the state fully reopening and new COVID case numbers dropping, it’s time for everyone to return to church.
