MEET the baker who has made her husband love his least favourite Middle Eastern dessert. Sabana Ali lives in Blackburn with her husband, Mohammed Jabir, who usually does not like the Knafeh pastry. The traditional filo pastry is soaked in sweet syrup and usually topped with either cheese or cream and nuts. To make the dessert more to her husband’s taste, the 26-year-old fused chocolate into it to make Knafeh bites and he loved it. She said: "I enjoy Middle Eastern desserts like Baklava and would like to bring them as something new in the future and I just feel Knafeh is not for everybody.
