Rhodes Must Fall, Extinction Rebellion and CWU South Central are only some of the groups taking part in the 5.30pm action in Bonn Square. The anniversary comes just weeks after Minneapolis police officer, Derek Chauvin, was convicted by a jury for the murder of the black man. Oxford Stand Up to Racism, which is one of the groups behind the event, explained that demonstrators will demand action over racism, including the removal of the Rhodes statue from its position in the High Street.
