BLM seeks public input on proposed fee changes for Lower Deschutes River PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) – The Bureau of Land Management Prineville District's Deschutes Field Office is seeking public comment on a proposal to change the fee structure for the Lower Deschutes Wild and Scenic River. The current system has been in place almost 30 years, the agency said, "and no longer reflects how today’s public land visitors enjoy the river and surrounding lands for outdoor recreation." The proposed changes are intended to make fees more equitable for all users, including non-boating users, throughout the year and to account for rising operating costs and the need for year-round maintenance.
