Bluffs making plans to mark 150th Shirley Bilyeu, Journal-Courier FacebookTwitterEmail BLUFFS — The village is looking to the future, especially the celebration of its founding. Mayor Linda Sapp told village board members that this year’s sesquicentennial is more important than an ordinary event because it marks the 150th anniversary of the village. Sapp said it is a time to celebrate the history of Bluffs and the people who live there who now are a part of that history. The village is trying to get two grants to buy fireworks for whatever events are planned for the occasion. Sapp also wants to have a parade and would like the village to have a float. Board members spent some time discussing what kind of float would be best and what materials would be necessary.
