Bomb threat called in to area Wawa clears store, but nothing found, police say Updated Mar 17, 2021; A person just after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday called the Wawa at 299 Mountain Ave. in Hackettstown and said a vehicle in the parking lot was going to explode, town police report. The building was evacuated and the area was cordoned off so a Morris County Sheriff’s Department bomb K-9 and the department’s Bomb Unit could search the property, police said. No bomb was found and the store reopened, police said. The incident remains under investigation, police said. Town police were assisted by the town Office of Emergency Management, the town Department of Public Works, Mount Olive’s fire marshal and the Hackettstown Fire Department, the news release said.
