The defense comes down to what Benjamin Kemp had said all along: “They forced me to do it.” But veteran defense lawyer Ken Moynihan waited until the last minute to make that case to the jury: Kemp basically is admitting to trying to rob an 18-year-old victim over $40 in marijuana, before getting spooked and shooting Ezequiel Ruiz twice in the back of his head.
