A cooking fire, a vehicle fire and a report of smoke in a building were among the calls recently reported to the Brainerd Fire Department. The calls include: Firefighters were called at 8:39 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, to smoke in a residence on the 14000 block of Grand Oaks Drive in Baxter. Upon arrival, it was determined to be a small cooking fire. At 11:58 a.m. Friday, firefighters were called to a report of smoke in a building on the 11000 block of Crow Wing County Highway 8, but were canceled en route.
