BRAINTREE — The annual Braintree Beautification Day is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 8 at town hall, 1 John F. Kennedy Memorial Drive. Volunteers will gather supplies, such as rakes, trash bags and work gloves at town hall and then get suggested work locations. Target areas for this year's clean-up include the town hall mall, the Braintree Historical Society properties, the beach and park at Sunset Lake, Penniman Park on Cleveland Avenue, Smith Beach and along John LeRoy Way on the Braintree High School campus. Mayor Charles Kokoros encourages residents to participate in the effort to show their hometown pride.
