LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Days before protesters are expected to gather to honor Breonna Taylor's memory, her mother filed six new complaints against Louisville Metro Police officers. The complaints, filed with the department's Professional Standards Unit earlier this week, seek investigations into whether departmental policies were violated in the course of the investigation that led police to Taylor's door on March 13, 2020, during the botched search warrant execution and in the subsequent departmental probe. Among the allegations: Not properly wearing body cameras; Faulty surveillance; Moving "critical evidence"; and Lingering at the crime scene or leaving without peer support. Louisville police officials issued a statement, saying the department "places the highest priority on conducting thorough and impartial investigations, and the complaints received from Ms. Palmer’s attorney are no exception."
