On the whole, Orlando Arcia is not a clear starting-caliber shortstop, even as that’s been his role with the Brewers for most of his career. A .244/.293/.364 (71 wRC+) hitter with slightly-above-average defense at shortstop. That’s Arcia. Kinda meh, at least as a starter. Yet you don’t think that, because the guy ALWAYS KILLS THE CUBS. Or at least it feels like it. His 86 wRC+ against the Cubs is 15 percentage points better than his career mark, though I suppose it’s still pretty darn meh. Still, it just seems like he comes through again and again against the Cubs. I know I’m not alone in this.
