B.C. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry. (via THE CANADIAN PRESS) COVID-19 numbers remain high throughout B.C., while the north saw a flurry of activity related to the virus. In a written statement today (Dec. 11), Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced 737 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours for a new grand total of 40,797. Of those, Northern Health has 41, which brings the authority's recorded number to 1,240. The northern region has 421 active cases with 46 in hospital and 17 of those in ICU. There are 9,589 people listed as active for COVID-19 throughout the province, 342 are in hospital with 87 in critical care.
