BROCKTON — As new coronavirus cases continue to decline with increased vaccinations, some aspects of peoples' daily lives are becoming a bit more normal. One thing that local school officials are hoping will be relatively normal this summer — at least in the new COVID-19 normal — is high school graduation. "We will be as close to normal of a graduation as possible," Brockton Public Schools Superintendent Michael Thomas told the school committee on Tuesday evening. Thomas said the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's recent updated guidance allowing for graduating students to maintain 3 feet of physical distancing rather than 6 feet while masked outdoors will allow for a more normal graduation.
