Bronson City Council passes ordinance to restrict use of fireworks

BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson City Council passed an ordinance on Monday night which is designed to restrict the use of fireworks in the city.
City Manager Brandon Mersman says Bronson Police have gotten a number of fireworks complaints with most of them involving loud fireworks in the late evening or overnight hours.
Previously, there was no ordinance in place, thus there were no restrictions on the use of fireworks in Bronson.
The Ordinance restricts the use of fireworks to the designated holidays consistent with a 2011 law.
The ordinance prohibits the discharge of fireworks on public, school, or church properties. It also prohibits the possession or use of fireworks for minors unless under the direct supervision of an adult at all times.
