Burglaries continue in the Curtis Community

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the latest in a string of burglaries that have occurred in the Curtis Community.
Jasper businessman Derek Billingsley says his vehicle and his wife’s vehicle were both burglarized early Tuesday morning. Billingsley said it happened while he was awake in the house, which is located on Highway 63 West about 2 miles outside of the Jasper city limits.
Billingsley said cash and other items were taken.
Jasper County Chief Deputy Scotty Duncan said at this point it’s not known if this crime is related to the others that have occurred recently in Curtis. The others included at least two house burglaries in which guns were taken.
