Cabinet allows lower rank cops to probe SC/ST Act cases : vi

With a surge in atrocities against ST/SC communities, police inspectors, sub-inspectors can also investigate cases registered under the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989 in Jharkhand. Earlier, only DSP level officers had the right to conduct investigations.
