(KSLA) — The Caddo Commission has voted on a resolution calling for independent, third-party inquiries into any death at a parish-owned facility or property. The proposal sponsored by Commissioner Stephen Jackson came in response to the death March 16 of Caddo Correctional inmate Casey Louis Simpson, 31. Caddo commissioners voted 7-4 in favor of Resolution 35. This vote now allows an independent investigation into Simpson’s death.
