ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — In a time when many community spaces are closed or inaccessible, the recently opened Ancora Cafe & Bakery is stepping in to fill that void. Ancora, which opened in December at 148 Quincy NE, is a nonprofit cafe that’s part coffee shop, part cafe and part safe space, according to general manager Victoria Gonzales. As a nonprofit, the cafe operates as a “sister project” to two outpatient treatment and therapy centers that work with adults and children struggling with substance use or other mental health needs.
