Can’t bear to see your Christmas tree kicked to the curb? The zoo can use it. Updated Dec 29, 2020; The Christmas tree that brings so much joy to your home doesn’t have to meet that sad, familiar fate: lying naked out on the curb in the bitter cold, waiting to be crushed unceremoniously by the jaws of a garbage truck. Once again this year, the Cape May County Zoo will give your holiday evergreen a second life: as a wind block stood up with others against fencing around outdoor habitats; as fodder for the goats, giraffe, llamas and bison to nibble on; and even as toys for the lions, leopards and other big beasts to bat around.
