Care facility goes without Telus service for a week

An error on the part of Telus Corp. is to blame for a communications foul-up that left a Westsyde care facility without phone, fax or Internet for a week.
"It was ridiculous. I was very frustrated," Eva Bechtel, facility manager for Westsyde Care Residences, said Wednesday.
Phones, fax and email were up and running by 4 p.m., but that wasn't the case when Bechtel turned to The Daily News on Wednesday morning.
The problem started Oct. 20 when a Telus crew repaired equipment near the facility on the 2900 block of Westsyde Road. She said everything was working one minute and then the lines went dead.
