A CARLISLE-based disability service is hoping for a more positive outcome as the Care Quality Commission (CQC) carries out a new inspection of the premises. The CQC’s inspection of Turning Point — Cumbria Learning Disabilities Supported Living’s Hillcrest Close premises in Carlisle — in December, 2020, found the service requiring improvement. The report said that infection control procedures, particularly related to Covid-19 were poor and required “immediate action”. It also stated that medicine management procedures needed to be improved. The last inspection rating for the service in December, 2017, was “good”. The most recent report said: “Staff, particularly support staff, were reported to be kind and compassionate.”
