Today’s “Success Stories” case study features Kathy Atkinson, legal director at Kettle Foods, which was acquired by Valeo Foods 18 months ago and currently going through the integration process. Going from a turnover of 90 million pounds a year to about 300 million meant the legal team of two needed to provide services to a much bigger business with no additional headcount resources. In this video, Atkinson talks about her team’s self-service project, where the focus was on freeing up the time doing low-value work to concentrate on more complex legal work. About Kathy: Kathy joined Kettle Foods, the premium snack business known for brands such as KETTLE® Chips and Metcalfe’s® popcorn, in 2004. She is a member of the management board responsible for the group’s activities in Europe and heads up the legal function which provides legal services to the business across a wide range of activities in the consumer branded goods sector, including the management of the KETTLE® and Metcalfe’s® trade mark portfolios. Prior to joining Kettle Foods Kathy spent 8 years in the electricity industry in a number of in-house counsel roles.
