It is undergoing a major restoration process, meaning the limited films of the last nine months have not been shown on its big screen. This week, more than 200 independent cinemas across England were supported with £16 million in grants from the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund. In the south west, independent cinemas including the Palace Cinema have been handed a share of £126,458. Adam Cunard, owner of Bognor-based Picturedrome which runs the Palace, said the funding was essential for the venue's survival.
