The health unit announced Friday morning two beaches in Smiths Falls and one each in Merrickville and Carleton Place are cautioned against using for swimming and recreational activity.

Both Junior Beach and Senior Beach in Smiths Falls have been deemed to have bacterial levels unacceptable for swimming. The same goes for Merrickville Beach and Riverside beach in Carleton Place.
The caution means that while the beach is not closed, the water is not recommended for swimming.
