The team is expected to assess if there was negligence on the part of the forest department BHUBANESWAR: The central team delegated by the Union ministry of forests and environment (MoEF) to assess losses caused by fires in Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) held a discussion with the additional chief secretary (forests), Mona Sharma, on Monday. The team, comprising Amit Mallick, inspector general of National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), and Subrat Mahapatra, deputy director general of the MoEF’s regional office here, also visited core areas and the fire-ravaged stretches of STR. It also visited the Kuldiha and Chandaka wildlife sanctuaries before arriving here to meet the state government official.
