The safe zone in Cardigan. COUNCIL chiefs have made a dramatic U-turn in their plans for a new traffic system in Cardigan. Town councillors had voiced opposition to County Hall's proposal to introduce two-way traffic along Morgan Street and The Strand as part of a plan to direct vehicles away from the town centre. Members feared such a move would endanger pedestrian and driver safety and lead to the loss of essential parking adjacent to Cardigan Castle. Now, Ceredigion County Council have revealed changes to the Cardigan safe zone mean Morgan Street and The Strand will remain as a one-way system.
