Chapel Hill holds off Northern Guilford, wins 3A regional final 1-0 Tags: By Kyle Morton, HighSchoolOT producer Chapel Hill, N.C. — Only one girls' soccer state championship game has taken place since Chapel Hill won in 2018, but the Tiger seniors who were freshmen then now have the opportunity to bookend their high school careers with state championships. The Tigers hosted and defeated the Northern Guilford Nighthawks 1-0 on Tuesday night in the 3A Eastern regional final to punch their ticket back. Chapel Hill got its only goal from one of those seniors who was a freshman on the state championship team, when Lizzie Ball broke through on the right side and sent the ball into the left side of the net for the game's only tally.
