Charge acquitted, another dismissed in Newark aggravated robbery case NEWARK - A Newark woman was acquitted of one charge and another was dismissed during a jury trial last week. According to Licking County court records, a single felonious assault charge was dismissed by the state against 46-year-old Samantha Criswell on Tuesday. Court records show Criswell was found not guilty of an aggravated robbery charge after Judge David Branstool granted her attorney's motion for acquittal on the charge. Court records show Criswell, who lived and attended college in Marion, was found guilty of a misdemeanor falsification charge and sentenced to 13 days in the Licking County Justice Center. Branstool granted Criswell 13 days for time served in jail.
