Ferries have been delayed at the Picton terminal as police respond to a bomb threat made on the morning of May 3, 2021.
Specialist staff had arrived by helicopter from Wellington to search both the Interislander and Bluebridge ferries in Picton about 10.35am, 2½ hours after passengers were first asked to disembark.
Feltham acknowledged that the incident caused “considerable disruption and distress for many”.
Erin Paul was having her breakfast on board the Straitsman on Monday when she was told by staff that all passengers would have to disembark.
“They got everybody off the ship, and they did a roll call. We were put on buses, but we weren't told where we were going,” Paul said.
