The City Council recently approved to continue their development agreement with the chamber that will provide the chamber itself $25,000 a year. City Administrator Steve Diers says the city will also provide funding for the popular Downtown Facade Program, which the chamber oversees. While the facade program funds grants for exterior building improvements, the Culture and Entertainment District Program, also run by the chamber, provides grants for interior improvements. The city will also contribute $25,000 a year to that grant program. Diers says approved applications provide a one-to-one money match to businesses up to $10,000.
