A series of posts on reality TV star Charlotte Dawson’s Instagram account have been banned for failing to disclose that they were ads and using filters to exaggerate the benefits of a make-up product. The Advertising Standards Authority upheld two complaints about the story posts on Dawson’s Instagram, seen in April, which featured her applying make-up from the BPerfect Cosmetics brand. Each post featured a swipe up link to the brand’s website and a number featured the message: “Use my code Charlotte20 for 20% off.” One post featured the label “#AD” in white lettering superimposed over a white dress that Dawson was wearing.
