Chennai Mathematical Institute CHENNAI: Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI), a teaching and research institute in mathematics, is establishing the Dr F C Kohli Centre of Excellence for Advanced Research in Mathematical and Computing Sciences” in honour of Dr F C Kohli, a tech veteran who created and shaped the IT industry in India. CMI said it has committed around Rs 10 crore to establish this centre. To augment this corpus, the institute would also raise additional funds from corporate foundations, community groups, colleagues and well-wishers, it added. The funds will be used to establish a Centre of Excellence and Endowed Chairs, as well as to provide grants for advanced research in areas such as data science, quantum computing and complexity theory.
