A 15-year-old Chiles High School student who was severely injured Monday in a crash on North Meridian Road is not expected to survive, according to her godparents. Makayla Campa was a passenger in an SUV that went off the road around 4 a.m. Monday and crashed into trees. Another passenger, Caden Staats, 14, who also attended Chiles, was killed in the crash. The driver, who has not been identified, suffered minor injuries. Makayla's godparents, Amanda and Matt Osborn, issued a statement thanking the community "for all the love and support" that it has received since the crash. The family's statement was published by local television stations.
