Sheriff Bruce Kettelkamp says police got a 911 call around 3am Wednesday morning of a car stopped on train tracks in Taylorville. Deputy Andy Voorhees responded and found a man passed out in the driver’s seat of the car, with the doors locked and the engine running. Voorhees was able to unlock the door through a partially opened window and woke the man, who was able to move the car off the tracks just seconds before the warning gates came down and a freight train came through. The driver, identified as Jake Billbe, was charged with DUI.
