July 12, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar Sunday urged citizens aged 50 years or above to get vaccinated to make themselves safe from the COVID-19. In a tweet, he said Pakistan had 27.2 million people who were 50 years or older and this age group was the most vulnerable to serious health effects of COVID. Asad said 5.6 million of these people had so far received at least one dose of vaccine. Meanwhile the Balochistan government has imposed new restrictions after a spike in the Coronavirus cases. This was announced by Balochistan government spokesman Liaquat Shahwani. He said a lockdown was imposed before Eidul Fitr which yielded good results.
