The Harrisonburg School board has established what is known as an ad hoc subcommittee intended to collect input from the public concerning school resource officers.
Superintendent Dr. Michael Richards explained during last week’s school board meeting that this is a fantastic idea.
School board members Kaylene Seigle and Obie Hill will be on the subcommittee to help the division’s equity advisory council that is led by Harrisonburg Vice Mayor Sal Romero in gathering input on whether police officers should be in schools.
