City of Quesnel continues to address problem properties SHARE ON: Some properties in an area in West Quesnel that used to be known as “coconut grove” have been demolished. Mayor Bob Simpson says these derelict properties on English Avenue are a continuation of Council’s Safer Community initiative. “We want to get at some of the root issues of some of the problems that we have in the community, that call into question some of the safety issues in our community, and that is problem properties, nuisance properties, derelict properties, properties that people can squat on, and properties that easily can become drug houses or the site of other criminal activities.”
