A REPORTER SHILLONG: A clash broke out in the Kylling-Iongkhuli area at the Assam-Meghalaya border on Sunday morning after an electric line was set up by Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL). Sources stated that the Assam Police tried to pull down the MeECL poles following which a clash broke during which the Mawhati MDC Charles Marngar was assaulted. Congress legislator from East Shillong Ampareen Lyngdoh reacting to the incident said, "A lady from the area called me a few hours ago informing that the Assam police personnel have stormed the village. The lady wanted me to inform the police headquarters."
