Clinton police: Propane leak closes stretch of Route 81 to traffic FacebookTwitterEmail CLINTON — A propane leak has closed a stretch of Route 81 to traffic, according to police. “Route 81 will be shut down in both directions from the entrance of the mall to Glenwood Road,” Clinton police said in a post around 8:14 p.m. Monday, while asking drivers to take other routes. The mall area referenced are the outlets located at 20 Killingworth Turnpike, according to a dispatcher. Police said the leak was “on Route 81 in front of the old Morgan High School.” A dispatcher said Monday night that the closure would be in place “until further notice.”
