WCCB Charlotte's CW May 22, 2021 CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Mecklenburg detectives say both the driver and passenger of a Honda were killed early Saturday morning after crashing their car in west Charlotte. Officers say they responded to the collision on West Boulevard after 3 a.m. to find a 1995 Honda Accord in the wood line. Police say the driver, 56-year-old Chevelle Jeter, and passenger, 40-year-old Antonio Bryant, were not wearing their seatbelts and were pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives say the Honda was speeding east on West Boulevard when it entered a curve and the car began to slide sideways. The Honda then struck a curb and multiple trees in the wood line before coming to a stop, according to a news release.
