Coastguard training becomes real-life rescue when pair found clinging to capsized yacht

“They were quite lucky, really,” Ballantyne said.
Ballantyne said his understanding was the pair went out for a fishing trip but got into trouble when trying to drop anchor as too much weight ended up on one side of the vessel.
The pair were brought aboard the Hohapata-Sealord Rescue and given blankets to warm up while the coastguard crew went about trying to right the troubled vessel.
After about 10 minutes, Ballantyne said, the coastguard crew decided to abandon the vessel and come back for it as the pair were cold and needed treatment.
