Coffee and Conversation: The Bruch Johnson Memorial Run was a success Journal Standard On March 27, the Stephenson County Farm Bureau hosted their annual Bruce Johnson Memorial Farm to Farm 5K/10K Run. The morning started off with rain, wind and a chill in the air. But that did not stop our volunteers from cheerily setting up for the event and preparing the best we could and adjusting where needed with the rain. We were fortunate to have a great turnout for pre-registration runners, and even some extra day-of registrations for people who braved the elements. This year our event had more than 180 registrations, with some participating virtually and others in-person, making it our largest event to date. Our event raises money for the Conversation and Agriculture Partners Foundation. This organization provides Ag in the Classroom programs and resources to classrooms and teachers in Stephenson County. This event would not be possible without the many businesses who supported our cause as sponsors. We are incredibly grateful for their generous support. Our sponsors included; Adkins Energy LLC, Citizens State Bank, Community Bank, Country Financial, Eastland Feed and Grain Inc., Mahon Pioneer Seeds, Pearl City Elevator Inc., State Bank in Freeport, Stateline Solar, Stephenson County pork Producers, Stephenson Service Company, B&R Grain Handling and Electric, Kurt and Tammy Baldauf, Bocker Automotive Group, Brewster Cheese, Compeer Financial, Culver’s of Freeport, Elliott and Trainor P.C., Fitness Lifestyles of Freeport, Freeport Health Network, Dennis and Brynn Groezinger, High Plains Pork, Kent Farms and Transportation, KJ Ag Service LLC, Lena Brewing Co., Lena Veterinary Clinic, Liles Chiropractic Clinic Ltd., Mahon Farms, Mau Farms, Nutrien Ag Solutions, Orangeville Animal Health Service, Plager, Krug, Bauer, Rudolph and Stodden, Ltd., Prairie State Tractor, Renee Schultz Photography, Rise Broadband, Schultz Bros., Trucking, Spahn and Rose Lumber Company, Stephenson/Winnebago County Beef Association, Thomas Farms, Torkelson Cheese Co., True Vine Landscaping and Lawn Care and Vita Plus — Lanark Ag Center.
