Community Futures strives to support businesses – and children's lemonade stands

Despite the economic downturn amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Community Futures Yellowhead East (CFYE) is endeavoring to support businesses in Whitecourt and the surrounding area.
The organization also intends to continue programming, with Lemonade Day giving area children a chance to try their hands at business through their own lemonade stands.

Michelle Jones, CFYE executive director, presented an update on the organization’s activities to Whitecourt council April 12.
“This year has been a time of struggle and uncertainty as we continue to face a worldwide pandemic, combined with an already uncertain economic outlook caused by the oil-and-gas industry crisis,” Jones told council.
