WHECTV Created: May 25, 2021 01:11 PM ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Members of the "Stop the Violence" campaign are calling on the community to step up and help end the recent surge of violence in Rochester. The group says it wants to see a bigger focus on helping the city's youth. Organizers pointed to the incident at the Monroe County Children's Detention Center over the weekend as proof of the issues that the age group is facing in the county. "It's just not the police, it's not just the parents the family, it's just not the school. it's just not the church," organizer Clay Harris said. "But it's all of us as a community because a lot of these young people don't have a role model or even a parent."
