Tweet Share The massive Black Lives Matter protests of 2020 catalyzed a national reckoning among individuals and institutions alike about the United States' legacy of racism, and sparked conversations about how we can do better going forward. These discussions are long overdue, and — as the pro-Trump Capitol riot and its numerous white supremacist participants show — they shouldn't be allowed to fizzle out. For its part, the Metro Human Relations Commission is kicking off 2021 with a new panel series called Just Conversations. The series will bring together Nashvillians from various sectors to discuss Ibram X. Kendi's How to Be an Antiracist. Each episode will feature a different group of panelists who will discuss a new chapter of the bestseller, and reflect on how it relates to their professional and personal experiences.
